Have You Received The Holy Spirit Since You Believed? (Acts 19)

NOTE: ROUGH DRAFT STILL WORKING ON THIS POST

What an a vitally important and amazing question the Apostle Paul asked other followers and disciples of Jesus Christ in Acts 19:1-6. Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?

In Acts 19 when Paul came to other already water-baptized believing disciples of Jesus, much after Pentecost, and after it being poured out on the gentiles, and after it had been poured out on others and in churches. You know what Paul preached and ministered to them? He didn’t preach about what happened way before on Pentecost like some dead relic to be memorialized! Oh no! Paul asked these disciples a very important question, and then He demonstrated the Spirit and power like the Bible says the Apostle and disciples of scripture truly did and acted.

He said to them, 'Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?' in Acts 19:2.

They said they did not hear about the Holy Spirit, Paul asked them; “then into what were you baptized?” They said into John’s Water Baptism. Paul said to them that John the Baptist indeed Baptized with water unto repentance, but they should also believe on the one that came after Him, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Do you all remember what John the Baptist prophesied about the greater more powerful baptist to come?

John had prophesied in scripture; Matthew 3:11 New King James Version 'I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.'

When these disciples heard this from Paul they realized even though they were disciples and water-baptized believers already there was another work of The Baptism of Jesus Christ into the Holy Spirit and Fire they needed to receive.

And the demonstration of the Spirit and power happened next through Paul a person of true Biblical faith and one full of the Spirit.

Acts 19:6 New King James Version 'And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.'

What did Jesus say in the great commission that would be signs all over the earth that will follow those who believe, as the gospel is also preached all over the world? He said they will speak with new tongues.

Let’s get Biblical, let’s become like the true disciples of scripture! He is alive! The Holy Spirit is alive and active and pouring Himself out on all flesh! He is not dead or inactive like the cessationist live and minister.

Paul warned us in the last days there would be those with forms of godliness but they would deny the power, Paul said in scripture from such people turn away.

Holy Spirit - Co-equal, Co-eternal, and Co-existent:

Body of Christ, this is CORE FOUNDATIONAL, a MUST, New Covenant true Christianity doctrine. Anything less is not New Testament Christianity at all.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. He is co-equal, co-eternal and co-existent with the Father and with the Son. His ministry upon the earth is to convict and covert man as well as be the great paraclete (comforter, counselor, helper, intercessor, advocate, strengthener and standby) to the Church. The washing re-generation and renewing by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation (Titus 3:5). The baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus to all believers and is received subsequent to and is distinct from the experience of New Birth. With it comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry (Luke 24:29, Acts 1:4, 1:8, 1 Corinthians 12:1-31). The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is meant to empower every believer to be a witness of Jesus Christ by the preaching and demonstration of the Gospel (Acts 1:8, Luke 24:49). The gifts of the Holy Spirit and "speaking in tongues" are also evidence of this experience. The baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-46, Acts 19:2-7. From the book of Acts, and biblical accounts it is given to all believers who ask for it, with the evidence of "speaking in tongues". The ultimate purpose of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is so that we, the believers, may have power to be witnesses (Matthew 3:11, John 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, Acts 2, Luke 3:16, Mark 16:17).

Check out what I wrote after one of the night services I did in India at the Pastors and Leaders conference. Even those pastors who had baptist and catholic backgrounds after my Biblical teaches were converted in their belief on receiving the Baptism of The Holy Spirit with the gift of Speaking in Tongues. All and 100% of them were Baptized into The Holy Spirit and Fire and spoke in new heavenly tongues!

I was recently leading a day on teaching the Holy Spirit to a group of pastors and leaders, some where baptist, some even Catholic background! I taught them for a full day and 3 sessions on The Duel work of the Holy Spirit at salvation, and the subsequent Baptism of The Holy Spirit of Jesus who is the Baptizer into the Holy Spirit and Fire that John  the Baptist prophesied in scripture. I tought them about how to recieve the baptism of the Holy Spirit and speaking in toungues, that it is for ALL believers. IT was a glorious day when 100% of these Pastors were converted, they believed in the truth of scripture I taught, and they ALL 100% then recieved the baptism of the HOly Spirit WITH the evidence of speaking in new tongues! They showed a TURE fruit of real humilty for the truth of scripture and the word of God!

WATCH THIS VIDEO MOMENT BELOW of PURE of the fire falling on these women as they receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire, tongues of fire coming out Turn the volume up from the start!

I remember this girl the moment I laid my hands on her like Apostle Paul in Acts 19; fire increased on her and she began to roar out in tongues of FIRE as the Fire of the Holy Spirit baptism came upon her, her body shaking, and she was literally jumping from the FIRE of God filling her! These people were Baptized in the Holy Spirit and spoke in new tongues. A truly Holy clip from a Holy Moment, one of many times on this trip I administered the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire by faith with the exact same results! Those who were hungry and thirsty were filled!

Here is one short clip of some of these women receiving the Baptism of The Holy Spirit and Fire!

You can see this but obviously can't feel the Fire of The Holy Spirit and presence of Jesus coursing through that place! This was from a moment at our recent crusade in India where I preached and administered the Baptism of The Holy Spirit and Fire with the demonstration of the Spirit and Power as I have been talking about. I give no exaggeration as maybe some do in the past; this is real true authentic FIRE of the Holy Spirit coming upon these people.

This whole congregation of people was led in prayers of full surrender and repentance to Jesus in the remote mountains and jungle of India. So many healings here at this crusade, blind eyes were opened and healing was testified and demonstrated to the people! So many healings and deliverances, as well as filling of The Holy Spirit with tongues of pure FIRE!

The presence of Jesus and The Holy Spirit was strong, and the people were praying out in new tongues they had recieved.

1 Corinthians 2:4-6

"And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God." -Apostle Paul

Acts 19:6 "When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied."

YES! The Baptism of The Holy Spirit and Fire is the post resurrection Baptism of Jesus Christ prophesied by John the Baptist. Jesus is the greater Baptist John prophesied! So OF course the Baptism of the Holy Spirit WITH the evidence of Speaking in Tongues for ALL believers is FOUNDATIONAL New Testament Christianity!!! This is why also after Pentecost when Paul met other Disciples Who were saved and had already been water baptized He told her they also had to be baptized into the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ and they all were, and spoke on tongues. From Paul Himself this also shows us and remind us in (ACTs 19) it’s an additional filling Him coming upon us, and that No this is NOT automatic at salvation or water baptism but another and additional filling! This is scripture!

This is FOUNDATIONAL New Testament Christianity! This is not optional but Jesus command for all who believe!

The church totally gets this in India and the Nations, it’s some of our western churches who have lost the truth! Let’s return to FOUNDATIONAL new covenant and New Testament CHRIST-inanity.

Body we must get back to what Jesus Himself founded the New Testament, post resurrection Church into. Which was the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire of Jesus Christ Himself. It wasn't just a one time thing. And even Paul tells us that receiving it does not just happen automatically at salvation or water baptism. Paul also demonstrates it didn't just automatically happen from when they all received it at Pentecost and when it was poured out first on the gentiles.

Look with an open mind and heart at the scriptures here in Acts 19 of What Paul said later in the book of acts when he came to Disciples, believers, who were already saved, and had already been baptized in water unto repentance.

Guess what, Paul still knowing this asked them 1) if they already received the spirit when they believed. Meaning there is more to receive! He told them after hearing they were water baptized that they needed to also be baptized and believe in Jesus Christ in this. Remember John the baptist prophesied this that he baptized with water, but that Jesus Christ would baptize YOU into the Holy Spirit and fire!

In Acts 19 these already believing disciples it said, who had already been disciples and were saved and water baptized...

They then when Paul laid his hands on them were baptized into the Holy Spirit! And ALL spoke in tongues. When people in the scriptures were baptized into the Holy Spirit they spoke in tongues. This didn't' just happen on pentecost but we see it repeatedly when the believers and Christians were then Baptized into the Holy Spirit. Remember that Jesus said these signs will follow those who believe, "They will speak in new tongues".

Read Acts 19 and see that this Baptism in The Holy Spirit form Jesus who will baptize you in it is for ALL disciples, and when you receive it one of the outward sings of the inward filling and Him coming upon us is speaking in tongues. It's the promise of the father as scripture says, that means it's promised for us all.

Look at what Paul says here to these believing Christians and Disciples like so many out there who were not yet Baptized into The Holy Spirit with the evidence of Speaking in Tongues.

We cannot make up what we would like to believe and are comfortable with when it just does not aline with scripture. And NO The Baptize of The Holy Spirit in the Bible was NEVER automatic at Salvation, or Water Baptism though some people receive it at those times as well. You can receive it at any time, it's His promise for you, but it's an additional Biblical thing!

I will be doing more teaching and equipping on this in India and here for you all soon! When I started in ministry Jesus so clearly spoke to me, "Richard, baptize my church into my Baptism of The Holy Spirit and Fire!"

Acts 19:1-8

New International Version

Paul in Ephesus

19 While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2 and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when[a] you believed?”

They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”

3 So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?”

“John’s baptism,” they replied.

4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” 5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues[b] and prophesied. 7 There were about twelve men in all.

8 Paul entered the synagogue and spoke boldly there for three months, arguing persuasively about the kingdom of God.
